The 2020 ACG Annual Scientific Meeting looked different this year. Like most medical conferences, the American College of Gastroenterology made the tough decision to transition the live meeting from in person (originally scheduled to be in Nashville) to a virtual educational experience. Despite the shift to an online setting, the meeting was a huge success and featured dedicated live sessions with Q&A, a digital e-Poster hall with recorded presentations, a virtual Exhibit Hall, and additional forums for conversation, networking and learning.
While ACG 2020 Virtual Meeting is over, on-demand lectures and recordings remain available until January 31, 2021 for attendees. Here are a few things to be sure to check out:
- Virtual attendees can view the Virtual Meeting News program and watch recordings of the Annual Meeting Daily Wrap Ups (login required), where ACG leaders and expert faculty synthesize each day’s clinical take-aways and significant findings with a quick daily summary of noteworthy sessions and key presentations.
- ACG’s ePoster Hall (available publicly) features nearly 3,000 accepted scientific poster abstracts, many of which include audio recordings by the presenters. CDI is proud to partner with researchers at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine on the ongoing NU-GERD Diet Study, which is the first prospective, randomized dietary intervention trial to evaluate if nutritional therapy can help patients cease PPI and effectively control GERD symptoms. Preliminary outcomes were presented by poster author Bethany Doerfler:

- Don’t miss the ACG Leadership Awards Ceremony and celebrate the recipients of the College’s highest honors. ACG President Dr. Mark Pochapin hosted this tribute to winners of the Samuel S. Weiss Award, Berk/Fise Clinical Achievement Award, International Leadership Award, Community Service Award, and President’s Special Recognition Award and introduced the newest Masters of the American College of Gastroenterology. Congratulations to all the award recipients!
