Brian J. Strasnick, PhD, JD

Executive Chairman

Dr. Brian J. Strasnick serves as Executive Chairman of CDI, which he co-founded in 2015. As Executive Chairman, Dr. Strasnick assumes leadership of the board of directors and works with the President & CEO to forge relationships with current and prospective customers and to provide contacts and introductions to assist the company’s expansion efforts.

Dr. Strasnick founded Willow Laboratories in 1995 and built it into a national clinical toxicology laboratory, analyzing over one million tests annually. Dr. Strasnick sold Willow Laboratories in 2011. At the time of the sale, Willow had over 200 employees. After the sale of Willow Laboratories, Dr. Strasnick, along with his son Craig, founded Commonwealth Laboratories, Inc. and scaled it into a successful diagnostic laboratory, which was sold in 2015.

Dr. Strasnick received undergraduate and graduate degrees from Northeastern University, CPU and NU School of Law. In addition, he completed his training in Behavioral Medicine at Tufts New England Medical Center. In 1998, Dr. Strasnick was named as an Outstanding Alumni in Health Sciences from Northeastern University. He is board certified in pharmaceutical sciences and behavioral medicine and is a Fellow of American Association of Integrative Medicine and The American Academy of Experts in Trauma. In addition to his publications, Dr. Strasnick has lectured throughout the country.

Dr. Strasnick sits on several boards of directors and is actively involved in a variety of philanthropic activities in his community.

Craig S. Strasnick

President & CEO

Craig S. Strasnick serves as President and CEO of CDI, which he co-founded in 2015. Craig partners with respected academics and industry leaders across the globe to enhance current gastroenterological practices, focusing particularly on diagnostic tools for functional gastrointestinal conditions, such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), and nutritional intolerances. Craig strives to achieve the company’s mission by developing and introducing new patient-friendly preventative health and monitoring technologies that not only assist in enhancing the quality of life of patients, but also create cost-effective solutions and value-added services for the healthcare system overall. Craig currently serves as a member of the board of directors for AlphaLogic, Inc., a company that specializes in the development and commercialization of convenient, low-cost, wearable sensory systems that can be utilized in hospitals, clinics, or at home for the diagnosis and ongoing monitoring of digestive wellness. Craig also serves on the board of directors for MyTotalHealth, Inc., a healthcare technology company that was founded to empower patients to monitor, manage, and understand their symptoms for a range of conditions, both within the field of gastroenterology, as well as in other areas of medicine.

Craig Strasnick founded Commonwealth Laboratories, Inc. in 2011, and as COO, he built the company over a six-year period from a two-employee operation to a thriving business operating across the US and Canada, with over 100 employees. In August of 2015, Craig secured the acquisition of Commonwealth and continued to serve as the company’s COO until 2016.

He graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University’s Management and Entrepreneurship Program. Most recently, Craig was accepted to The University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, where he will be pursuing his Masters of Business Administration beginning in 2017.

Craig Strasnick is a regular supporter of and contributor to a number of organizations, including Temple Emanu-El, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the American Brain Tumor Association, and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. In addition, he holds active memberships with the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Neurogastroenterology & Motility Society, and the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians.

Gray W. Rifkin

EVP, Chief Legal Officer

Gray W. Rifkin, Esq. serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of CDI. Gray oversees CDI’s legal and compliance departments and manages the company’s strategic business initiatives, global infrastructure, and commercial platforms. Gray provides leadership for CDI’s legal and regulatory affairs, ethics and compliance programs, business development, global operations, and corporate governance activities. Gray is responsible for overseeing the commercialization of CDI’s diagnostic portfolios and guiding the company’s products and services through international regulatory and commercial channels.

Prior to joining CDI, Gray served as General Counsel and VP of Business and Corporate Affairs for Commonwealth Laboratories, Inc. Gray oversaw Commonwealth’s legal department, headed up the FDA and regulatory compliance divisions (including HIPAA), and managed Commonwealth’s technology transfer, intellectual property, and business development teams. On behalf of Commonwealth, Gray negotiated and secured exclusive rights to multiple cutting-edge diagnostic portfolios for the diagnosis of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), and other digestive conditions and disorders. In August of 2015, Gray led Commonwealth through an acquisition deal with a multi-billion dollar publicly traded company.

Before joining Commonwealth, Gray practiced law at a prestigious, AV Rated, full service law firm located in Miami, Florida. Gray advised and represented clients, including Commonwealth, in a wide range of corporate and intellectual property transactions and complex commercial litigation matters.

Gray graduated with high honors from the University of Miami (cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) earning his Bachelor of Arts and Science degree with a major in Political Science and a minor in Business Law. In recognition of his academic success, Gray was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society among other national honor societies.

Gray graduated summa cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law, where he was inducted into the Order of the Coif in recognition of his academic excellence. Gray earned recognition on the Dean’s List for his academic performance in every semester and served as an Articles and Comments Editor for the University of Miami Business Law Review. Gray also maintained membership in the Federal Appellate Clinic and the Ethics and Professional Responsibility Clinic and was honored for his performance in the litigation skills trial program.

Gray’s most recent academic endeavor is his enrollment in Brown University and IE Business School’s Executive MBA Program. He is an active member of the Florida Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association, the American Health Lawyers Association, and the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Matt Pressman

SVP, Internal Operations

Matt Pressman serves as Senior Vice President of Internal Operations of CDI. Matt oversees the logistics, shipping, and receiving processes at CDI to ensure quality control and fulfillment measures are met. Matt also secures and maintains all vendor relationships for CDI and works directly with the VP of Internal Operations to ensure a streamlined and efficient ordering protocol.

Prior to joining CDI, Matt worked at Commonwealth Laboratories, Inc., and began there at the company’s beginning stages, in 2011. At Commonwealth, he served as Director of Operations, and later VP of Operations, and was responsible for the management and oversight of the operations department, which included personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility needs, and tooling/equipment needs.

Matt graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Merrimack College in North Andover, MA in 2010.

Federico Moschini

SVP, International Operations

Federico serves as Senior Vice President of International Operations of CDI. He is responsible for building and implementing a global strategy to quickly and effectively sell the company’s entire product portfolio in the most relevant markets around the world. His responsibilities also include opening and managing affiliates in the company’s focus countries, identifying local distributors, and building strong relationships with international Key Opinion Leaders to produce solid scientific data. Federico brings innovative thinking, problem solving, and a team-oriented attitude to the CDI team.

Federico has more than 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical and diagnostics industries, with expertise in licensing, business planning, marketing management, new product launches and re-launches of mature products, business development, distribution channel management, market access, sales force effectiveness, and sales force training.

Federico graduated from the University of Pavia, Italy in 2005 in Pharmacy. He is Pharm.D. certified with the habilitation to practice. In 2006, Federico got a master’s degree in Marketing Management for the Pharmaceutical Industry from the same university. In addition to speaking his native language, Italian, Federico is also fluent in English and Spanish.

Craig “CY” Yarwood

SVP, Commercial

Craig Yarwood serves as Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations of CDI. Craig is responsible for the coordination and management of sales and marketing operations across all product and corporate activities, integrating with the Senior Vice President of Sales. Craig led the launch branding activities for IBSchek™ as well sales force allocations and CRM development.  He also contributes to business development assessments and activities. Finally, Craig actively consults with and aligns activities with CDI’s executive team and provides input to the strategic direction.

Craig worked in preclinical R&D while earning his master’s degree at both NY Medical College and Ciba-Geigy Pharmaceuticals. He has leveraged his scientific acumen developing an expertise in oncology, hematology, gastroenterology and diagnostics. Craig has also held strategy and account leadership positions with leading healthcare advertising agencies including leading megabrands such as Gleevec, Sutent, Abraxane, Procrit to name a few. Many brands developed under Craig’s leadership have won numerous awards, including Manny Awards. The current IBSchek launch branding is also in contention for numerous creative awards.

Craig graduated from LeMoyne College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and subsequently went on to get a Master of Science degree in Pharmacology from NY Medical College and an MBA in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Lisa Traficante Richard

Executive Director, Project Planning & Development

Lisa Richard serves as Executive Director of Project Planning & Development of CDI. She is responsible for working alongside the President and CEO to lead strategic and tactical corporate business initiatives. Lisa utilizes her extensive project management experience to organize and seamlessly execute projects and events for the executive team and for the company as a whole.

Prior to joining CDI, Lisa worked in the staffing industry for over eleven years. There, she specialized in recruiting and placing professionals in several industries including healthcare, life sciences, architecture and engineering, environmental services, and accounting and finance.

Lisa graduated from the University of Connecticut with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

Alexandra Connors

VP, Human Resources

Alexandra Connors serves as Vice President of Human Resources of CDI. Alexandra plans, develops, and implements all the people functions of the organization, including the acquisition and retention of top-level talent. Her primary objective is to cultivate company-wide cohesiveness and she values the unique perspective each individual brings to the team.

Alexandra began her career with Commonwealth Laboratories, Inc. in 2012, as the tenth hire to the Commonwealth team. After gaining experience as an account manager, Alexandra played a critical role in developing the company’s HR department and assisted in growing the organization to just over 100 employees in 2016.

Alexandra graduated in the top of her class with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University in 2012, where she volunteered as a mentor and tutor at Emory Autism Center, Fugees Family, and Graduation Generation.

Currently, Alexandra is enrolled in Villanova University’s Master Certificate in HR program, and volunteers with Horizons for Homeless Children and the Big Sister Association.

Andrea Marino

Executive Assistant to the President & CEO

Andrea Marino serves as Executive Assistant to the President & CEO of CDI. From the headquarters in Salem, to locations overseas, Andrea plans, organizes, and schedules events, meetings, and conferences, and sees to it that the CDI machine operates smoothly. And with an eye for interior design, Andrea worked alongside the Executive Director of Project Planning and Development to furnish and decorate the company’s new, modern workspace.

She was hired at Commonwealth Laboratories, Inc. in January 2014, became the first member of the company’s administrative team, and left her role as Executive Assistant in August 2016 to join CDI.

Andrea graduated from Salem State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2014.

Jenny Sok

Executive Assistant to the EVP, CLO

Jenny Sok serves as Executive Assistant to the Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of CDI. In her role as Executive Assistant, Jenny works closely with the executive team to coordinate conferences, schedule events, and arrange travel. Her coworkers appreciate the balance she maintains between her strong work ethic and her sense of laugh-at-life humor.

Jenny’s entrepreneurial spirit has led her on an interesting career path, which includes financial work at BNY Mellon, administrative and marketing work at Amalgam Digital, and owning her own Cambodian restaurant in Cambridge.

Jenny graduated from University of Massachusetts Boston in 2006 with a degree in International Business Management, a concentration in Marketing, and a minor in Economics.
